Just search for “QA” in your WordPress plugin screen and install it.
QA Assistants is reviewed and published in the official WordPress.org plugin directory. No account sign-up, no setup and no tracking tags needed. You can start using free analytics and heatmaps for every page right away, along with data-driven assistants.
Getting and installing data-driven assistants
Data-driven assistants are plugins that anyone can make freely under WordPress’s GPL license. Some are featured on this site, and some are distributed on their authors’ own sites.
They come as ZIP files. Download one, then upload it from Plugins → Add New in your admin screen and activate it. See the WordPress.org guide for details.
Getting the plugin
QA Assistants is published in the official WordPress.org plugin directory. There are two ways to get it.
- In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New and search for “qa” or “qa assistants”. “QA Assistants” will appear. Click “Install Now” and you’re done. → Installing and activating
- Download the ZIP from the plugin’s page on WordPress.org and install it in WordPress.

Supported versions
- PHP version: see the plugin’s Help screen
- WordPress version: see the plugin’s Help screen
- Recommended server: 4 GB of memory or more, preferably with SSD storage
Depending on your server, some settings need attention when installing, such as PHP settings, file creation and database size. Other plugins or themes may also affect how data is recorded.
If your server doesn’t allow file writing, QA can’t save its data and won’t record anything. → See below
Installing and activating
- In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New and search for “qa”.
- Click “Install Now” on “QA Assistants”.
- When the installation finishes, click “Activate”.
- If “QA Assistants” appears in the left menu of your admin screen, you’re all set.
If your server restricts file writing
Some servers restrict file writing, and ask for a password when you install a plugin.
On those servers QA can’t write its data either, so nothing gets recorded. Give the web server write permission for the plugin’s data directory (usually wp-content/qa-heatmap-analytics-data/).
